Football
I played Flag Football, I am leading in the football pool, and I watched Holland College football again this weekend. Playing flag football was a RIOT! I had an awesome time. At first I was really scared I was going to get hit, but there is not touching, and all I did was run and chase people for their flags.
At the Holland College Football games I got my picture taken with the University of PEI mascot. He was a bit odd....but it goes along with my theme of mascot pictures
This week was crazy....my missing 5 promotion made the CBC news, some guy was complaining that people were vandalizing his store and causing problems. We have found there are a few people that are just taking this promotion way too far. In the meantime I am trying to get ready for next months promotion, so much work to do, so little time.
Mom is here visiting. My friend has taken her to see the bridge, and East Point. I took her to Cavendish and today she went to see Chef Michael Smith at the Farmers Market on Queen Street. They shut down the street. My friend was in a chili competition. It was a lot of fun.

The Weekend of Awesomeness
Friday
We called this the weekend is awesomeness. The station had 6 events to cover. Friday was the PEI ROCKET game (hockey) and the Shellfish Festival.
Saturday
Holland College Football Game at the University of Prince Edward Island. Also Shellfish Festival. Got to hang out with the gang from work, so we did some fun photos on the truck.
Sunday
I ran across the Confederation Bridge in the Terry Fox Run. 13 km was a long way, after I ran on Saturday 10k. I didn't know I was going to be running today, I was supposed to MC events on the New Brunswick side, but they cancelled the event. So my boss said " You can run!" Yeah. I am glad that I did though. It was quite an experience, the fresh air, the miles of endless Ocean, the gulls, the 8 THOUSAND people, and the incline on the bridge that was hellish in spots. My knee is now swollen, and I am really sore, but I ran across the Confederation Bridge. Very cool. :)
The Dallas Stars intrasquad game was today. The Stars are here practicing, and I got to meet Ron Maclean. He was super nice!

Where Did That Week Go!
The missing 5.5 is underway, and the reaction has been crazy. Only a couple of complaints, just cranky people. Other than that, a lot of people are into this contest. This week will be nuts. There are so many things happening with Mr. K. I want to thank Rob and Renee for helping me out by recording voices for me!
This past week, I was so busy at work, it was just a big blur. Thursday night, my friend and I took a bunch of stinky mackeral that I had thawed (I'm not cooking it) and we took it to the beach. Problem is, PEI seagulls are not like Ontario seagulls. Ontario seagulls are like papparazzi on Paris Hilton when it comes to food. PEI seagulls just look at you and run away when you throw fish at them. One lowly seagull, who likely was a tourist at some of the mackeral. It was really uneventful. But I had a great time walking on the beach. I also found some wierd shell...I had never seen one like that before.
Friday night I went to see Hairspray with my friend Brittany. George Wendt (Norm from Cheers) was hysterical and the entire show was as good as a Broadway Musical. I have to get my mom a ticket for when she visits next week. I don't have any pictures from the evening, even though I went to the reception after. I was wearing killer heels, and I was really tired. So I took off before the entire cast got there.
Saturday I worked. I went for a jog in the morning in the rain, and then in the afternoon I went to the Red Sands Potato Festival in Victoria By the Sea. Chef Michael Smith was there. Women go gaga over this guy. I did not. I went more gaga over George Wendt. The premise of the evening was that you bought a ticket for a bowl made by a local potter. Then, you got to eat Chef Smith's famous seafood chowder, and all kinds of stuff that had potatoes in it. I chose not to eat, because it got crazy busy. I was lucky enough to get one of the bowls though. There was also a band there, 3 young boys, 14, 15, and 16 who provided traditional Island music. They were AMAZING. I could have listened to them all afternoon.
Anyways, I had my picture taken with a potato man and a lobster man, and here is a quick clip of the boys who played Island music.
Today I cleaned, did laundry and made chicken tettrazzini ( I am spelling it wrong, and I really don't care) sloppy joes and a roasted chicken with vegetables. The plan is to cook a whole lot on Sunday when I have time and then not have to worry about food for at least 3 days during the week.
So Mom visits next week. I am realizing all of the things I need to get before she arrives, like a nighttable for the spare room, a paring knife, and a kitchen table and chairs. lol. Oh well, mumsy may have to eat in the living room on the couch and of off the coffee table. It will be like the old days at Christmas at Aunt Rose's when there were so many people they had to eat at the couch, and I usually sat on the floor.

Tropical Storm Earl
I have been working since 11:30am doing Storm Coverage at the station. Answering phones, directing staff, we have sounded AMAZING. I am very proud of everyone right now.
The storm wasn't that bad, a few trees down, some big puddles, sidways rain--nothing that I didn't experience in Ontario.
Some strange stuff has happened. Our 5's are missing. We are now K-ROCK 10 (K-ROCK 1 OH) Here is a link to some guys blog about us being K-ROCK 10. I am having fun!

Hurricane Earl &Norm from Cheers was at the Triangle
Busy.
-in the midst of executing huge ratings promotion-very exciting
-making plans to deal with Hurricane Earl. I am not worried-not even the slightest. I am the opposite, I'm actually looking forward to it, I can't wait to see the waves!
-Have been jogging in the morning, because I am working long hours
-Saw Norm (George Wendt) at the "Triangle" some restaurant across from the radio station. He was super nice, I get to see him at the opening of the musical "Hairspray" next Friday night.
-We have a food bank promotion going on tomorrow and Friday. Morning shows are locked in the studio until it filled to the ceiling with food. It will be fun.
-I'm tired and going to bed now. :)
