Charlottetown Santa Claus Parade

It's that time of year when those of us who work in radio get in line for Santa Claus parades. Last night was the Charlottetown Santa Claus parade. I along with a few of the other staff members walked the route along side our huge float. It was about 5km. Our float looked great with a lot of kids, people, and it was hauling our station vehicle.

It was pretty impressive. There were thousands of people lined up along the streets.

Yesterday I also helped out with the K-ROCK Equipment Drive for Kids. We are trying to get as much sports equipment donated as we can for kids who otherwise may not be able to play hockey and other sports. We got about 8 bags full of stuff.

Today is a laundry day/clean apt day. I'm also going to the gym. And I have curling tonight.

Sitting with the Big Guys

This is the NEWCAP headquarters in Dartmouth. Nice building. Nice view of the harbor from the board room. Very nice people work there. Seriously. Everyone is happy. You can tell they love their jobs.

The drive home was a mess. It snowed all through Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. Nothing I wasn't used to driving in, but it still made for a longer trip home and I was tired.

I forgot to write that on Saturday night the bf and I went to see Tanya Davis. She is an excellent Canadian performer, who had a youtube video that have over 2 million hits. She is a singer (originally from Summerside PEI) that has an unforgettable voice. Check out this poem she wrote, and then they made a video of it.

I know its all deep and stuff, but it's true.

Dartmouth

I had a beautiful drive to Dartmouth today. While I was driving over the Confederation Bridge, the waves were 5ft waves, the sun was out, and at the same time there was snowsqualls.

I saw a bald eagle while driving through Nova Scotia. When I got to the hotel, I immediatly headed for the pool and hot tub. Verrrrry nice.

Now I am off to dinner. Possibly may hit hot tub again. lol. I love the hot tub.

The Snow is Here

People complain about snow here in Prince Edward Island, they complain in Ontario, and pretty much anywhere it snows. I am one of the rare people who love the snow. It's beautiful. Here is the K-ROCK studio, decorated for Christmas.

This is downtown Charlottetown, in the snow.

And finally, the first time I have ever seen the ocean when it is snowing.

A Beautiful Fall Weekend in PEI

On the weekend, it was beautiful! The sun was out, it was warm and a friend and I decided to go to the Cavendish Park trails on Saturday. We had a great time, the water was calm, no wind, the air was as fresh as it could ever be.

We were out walking on the trails and saw a couple of foxes (which tourists stupidly feed) so they have no fear of people. We took several photos of this beauty.

On Sunday, my friend and I travelled to Roma. There is trails at Three Rivers. The smell of the pine trees and the ocean was amazing. It was truly a beautiful weekend in PEI.

Some things that have been going on, well for the most part I work. I have been asked to part of a programming advisory board for the company, which would consist of programmers from across Canada. Very exciting and an excellent opportunity for me. I head to Halifax next week for our first meeting.

K-ROCK is planning for Christmas, no Christmas music likely! I had people vote on our website and most are against Christmas music on a rock station. We have a sports equipment drive starting Friday, our sister station has toys for tots, so this will be our fun way of giving back to the community. Our staff Christmas party is also coming up, I'm looking forward to that, but I have to get out there and get a dress. And likely shoes. Jeez. I hate shopping when you actually have to get something. It's so much easier when you are not looking.
